  7. UniDOC (Universal Document Oriented Computing) is a document tracking and
  8. control system. The term ``document'' is used loosely. It refers to any form of
  9. digitized information: text, voice, color photographs, scanned images, full
  10. motion video or any other information handled by a computer. UniDOC remembers
  11. for the user where files are stored (even if they are on removable media),
  12. which applications are capable of processing each specific file, and allows
  13. multiple files to be connected, even if the files contain different kinds of
  14. data. UniDOC behaves like a manual filing system where documents are stored in
  15. folders. Documents and folders have 72 character names (documents may have any
  16. amount of descriptive text attached to them) which are indexed for later
  17. keyword searches by the user. UniDOC delivers easy to understand computing to
  18. the average person, removing the need for user interaction with the operating
  19. system.
